Round of Applause to Winners of Springer's First API Challenge!

Mashery customer Springer, a leading global publisher of scientific books and journals, recently announced the winners of its first Springer API Challenge -- a competition for original, non-commercial applications using Springer metadata and content APIs. The competition's goal was to offer users new ways to find, visualize, and/or manipulate relevant data drawn from Springer's large and growing content base.

First prize ($5000) was awarded to SpringerQuotes, which allows users to search and read open access articles from Springer through a web app. KontentLinks nabbed second prize ($2500) for letting researchers create connections between various types of content (i.e. articles, images, etc.), and then share, rate and comment on them. Judges awarded JournalSuggest third prize ($1000) for creating a website that provides answers to researchers' common questions on preparing articles and grants.

Congratulations to all of Springer's API Challenge winners!
